The Royal Society of Arts honored Crack with the Ceramic Industry Forum Award 2004.
CRACK is the concept of a tool for preparing the quintessentially English cucumber sandwich. A ceramic bread knife which, when “cracked” out, leaves a cucumber slicer. The strength of high-tech ceramics in contrast to the fragility of classic porcelain is demonstrated by the necessity to break the product before it is used. An innovative ceramic foil was used. Prototyping in cooperation with KPM Berlin.
