Renovation of the municipal office of the Evangelische Kirchengemeinde Samariter-Auferstehung in Berlin Friedrichshain.
We were responsible for the concept, planning, production and construction management throughout the entire construction process.
On a total area of nearly 400 square meters, there are 5 office spaces, a kitchenette with a coffee station, a multi-purpose community room, a large community hall, a kitchen and dining area and several restrooms.
A large illuminated cross embedded in wooden paneling along with storage doors that blend seamlessly with the paneling. A long wooden table sits centrally in the community room welcoming guests and inviting to work and discuss together. A pink church pew and big neon letters stating „Eat, Pray, Love“ in a spacious kitchen. Coloured modular hexagonal platforms serve as a flexible stage and seating. Old Thonet chairs found in the church cellar were refurbished and painted in bright colors.
Despite it´s sleek, modern and minimalist design the overall character is warm and welcoming with a religious symbolism.
