In cooperation with Niels Kleindienst we conceptualised, designed, developed and produced a first collection of accessories, lamps and furniture for the brand Zweitwerk powered by Volkswagen.
Pioneering spirit within the automobile group: zweitwerk is an internal start-up in the Volkswagen Group. The motivation is to find creative ideas for employing high-quality materials which cannot be used in the manufacture of automobiles. Each of the design objects was originally produced for its specific function as a component, and each has its own individual history which becomes part of the new object.
New role for unused materials: Recovering materials before their disposal. Finding a new use for them. That is the idea behind zweitwerk. Creating design objects from materials classified as rejects by the automobile industry despite being flawless. Recognising the outstanding quality of components, evaluate them and transform them into unique objects for your home, in the office or while out and about.
